Back in normal day routine...webpage being updated

Welcome to visit a little bit of the past, a lot of the present and some of the future on my home page. Here you’ll find a short history of my life and work. My books, lectures, photography and a variety of elected and appointed posts have now been followed by a challenging new phase: a position as a Finnish representative in the European Parliamentary bloc THE GREENS/EFA.

I took over this seat in April, 2003, when my predecessor, HEIDI HAUTALA, returned to the Finnish Parliament and domestic politics after eight richly successful years in the European Parliament.

As to my own contribution, I consider it crucial to provide children with an opportunity to grow up in peace, as well as to promote balanced co-existence between human beings, animals and nature. Through my work, I hope to promote tolerance and practise the old-fashioned principles of diligence and reliability.

On this website, I hope that you’ll find answers to your questions and freely present your own opinions and questions related to my work. I also hope you will re-visit this expanding page from time to time. I expect honest feedback, requests and requirements. I’m grateful and consider it an honour to hear your concerns, which I can then work toward in the future. With my warmest wishes,

p.s. animals, my life-long companions, deserve a place on this site as well...
